Just Another Day!
My soul sister, Piyusha Vir the Wandering Soul Writer, published her first book! I am so excited for her. It is a collection of three short stories. I purchased my copy the moment the links were available on Amazon. Here’s my review of Piyusha Vir’s Just Another Day.
It was Just Another Day when this book with three amazing short stories fell into my lap. I am not exaggerating when I say three amazing short stories because I finished reading the book in one sitting as soon as I bought it.
The stories were so engaging it had me enraptured in their world. I found myself transported into the lives of the three main characters instantly. I could feel myself getting anxious for the group in “The Writer’s Circle” from story number one. This story deals with a murder theme, but from the POV of only one of the characters. I was racing through this with the pace of the main character’s heartbeat because that’s how bad I wanted to find out whodunit! I will not say more so as to avoid the spoilers.
In the second story titled “Happy Birthday, Saisha” I saw myself when Saisha described her daily brush with casual sexism at work! I think most women can relate to that. The climax of this story moved me to tears and made me angry at the same time. If I had to pick a favorite, it would definitely be Saisha’s story!
In the last and final story titled “Elevator Tales”, I found myself giggling everytime the main character said something. I think I felt butterflies in my stomach when the character went on to explain what they felt everytime their love interest came into sight! I remember times when I have felt like that for some of my crushes! So totally cute! Oh, don’t be misguided by the use of the word cute here, the climax/plot twist at the end was NOT one that I saw coming!
These are three varying tales from three differnt genres told with such panache that it lifts the reader off of their feet and lands them back safely but only after injecting them with a healthy dose of adrenalin! Any thrill seeker would know what I mean here!
Piyusha has a flair for the epigrammatic writing style that is evident in her short stories, it leaves the reader feeling satisfied yet at some point makes them yearn for more! I am honored to know Piyusha as a writer and a friend and am looking forward to reading a full-fledged novel from her.
I would definitely recommend the book to anyone looking for an entertaining, engaging, quick, and easy read. If you are interested, you can pick up a copy of the e-book from Kindle by clicking on this link: Just Another Day
