Limerick Challenge Week 11: Power

Last week I suggested adding InLinkz to link up all your limerick submissions and asked for your votes for either a yes or a no to it. A large majority voted Yes! OK, I hear ye!

Thus, starting this week, all participants are requested to link-up your limerick submissions using the blue InLinkz button that says “Click to View and add your links” at the bottom of this post.

For those of you, who are new to linking up in Inlinkz, here’s what you need to do to add your limerick posts:

  1. Post your limerick on your blog as usual with a ping-back to this post.
  2. Come back to this post and Click on the button “Click to View and add your links” below.
  3. Log in to your InLinkz account if you already have one, if not, you will be prompted to create an account. I recommend using your WP email to register.
  4. Then click on “add your link” and follow the instructions on there to add your limerick.

Once you add your limerick, you will be able to see all the limerick submissions already in there. Simply click on the Thumbnail image to view the limerick submissions from other participants. Remember: reading and commenting on other’s limerick submission is a lot of fun. Therefore, please continue to be as supportive as ever to each other.

I will be visiting all participants’ blogs and commenting on your limerick post via the InLinkz submission. In short, I may not respond to you here on this post, but will definitely provide a feedback to your limerick post on your blog.

I hope the above explanation makes it easier for you, if you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out to me on mindandlifematters@gmail.com and I will be happy to email you a step by step procedure with screenshots.

Alright, now it is time for us to get back to business and for me to announce the Top 5 limericks of the Week 10 Challenge: Whisper.

The Week 10 Limerick Superstar is……… Alistair Lane of A Certain Point of View with the amazing limerick below:

Whispered words escape her lips;

A dance of sin upon her hips.

She draws me near,

Removing all fear:

Her name is Luna; my solar eclipse.

Gold-Badges-PSD

Congratulations to Al – the Limerick Superstar this week!

The second place is shared by Diane of Ladies Who Lunch Reviews with a heart touching limerick and Kat Myrman of Like Mercury Colliding with her humorous limerick.

The third place is shared by Sudha of Naa Prapancham,My World with her murmured limerick and Becoming Unstuck with a mysterious limerick!

I am sure you have already read all the limericks, if you haven’t then do check them all out! There are absolutely amazing submissions!

Now that the Top 5 have been announced, it is time for the Week 11 Challenge.

The prompt word for this week’s challenge is ‘Power’. You can opt to use the word ‘Power’ or some of its closer synonyms like Authority, Energy, Strength etc.…well, you get the idea!

For those who are new to the challenge, here are the rules:

  1. Each week, a prompt (A Word) will be provided and participants are to use this prompt as a base for their limericks.
  2. Participants can opt to either use the word (prompt) itself or a synonym of the word to use in their Limerick. This is a MUST. Either the word or a synonym of the word must be a part of your Limerick!
  3. This challenge will run from Friday to Thursday, and you may link up your Limerick anytime during these specific days.
  4. All Limericks for Week 11 Challenge are due in latest by 12PM on Friday, March 18, 2016. After the deadline, the link-up button will not accept anymore submissions.
  5. Please tag your Limerick with: Limerick Poetry Challengeso that others interested can check out your Limerick.
  6. Please remember to pingback to this post on your Limerick Post. (This step is important).
  7. A small donation is made to the local charity in the name of the Winners who receives the ‘Limerick Superstar’ badge.
  8. Receiving this badge means that not only are you a Limerick Superstar, you helped feed one hungry person with your limerick! The winners can choose to display the badge on their blogs!
  9. If you are interested in participating in this challenge, please follow this blog site to receive instant email notifications of the post with the Word prompts for each week.
  10. The main purpose of this challenge is to have fun and learn. Those who are able to mentor and help others grow in their writing; you are encouraged to do so. All constructive feedback should be communicated in a kind and helpful manner AND received in a welcoming manner.

Finally, here is my take on the prompt:

For her, he was the one – her lover

But for him it was a game of power

Yet she didn’t realize,

For all her life:

Not her but him who’s the coward!
