Top 10 Tuesdays

Top 10 Movies of 2016 I Can't Wait For!

I love watching movies and like many people I look forward to the big releases for the year. I am a huge fan of sci-fi movies, period dramas, fantasy and animated movies. The year 2016 looks good for movie lovers, especially from the aforementioned genres. So, for this week’s Top 10 feature, I decided to churn out a list of the Top 10 movies that I am anxiously waiting for in 2016.

Instead of going on and on about why I am waiting to watch these movies, I will go ahead and post the trailers here so you can watch for yourself and enjoy! Trust me, whenever these movies release, you want to be in a movie theater!

P.S: This list is in random order!

  1. Captain America Civil War

It’s Captain America people, need I say more? Who doesn’t love Captain America? Being a huge Marvel fan, this one had to be on top of my list. Set for release on May 6, 2016, the trailer promises it’s going to be a blockbuster. Check out the trailer and see for yourself.

  1. Independence Day Resurgence

I was a child when I watched Independence Day (the first part) and I fell in love with Bill Pullman and Will Smith – yes both of them! It was my favorite movie for the longest time, so I am a little more than excited when I heard a sequel was in the works. The trailer had me standing up and yelling out in excitement (much to my mother’s embarrassment) at the movies – yep that’s how excited I was! Sadly, the second part does not star Will Smith – but that’s OK, I am still anxiously waiting for the release on June 24, 2016.

  1. The Jungle Book

Disney has done it again and this time it is with The Jungle Book. Oh, I loved Mowgli and all the characters from The Jungle Book. And this trailer just makes me love them all the more. The trailer actually gave me goosebumps! Why does the release of April 15, 2016 seem so far away? πŸ˜€

  1. X-Men Apocalypse

X-Men, mutants, apocalypse – who wouldn’t want to watch it? The trailer felt a little weak as compared to the last two X-Men movies. I loved the last two, so I am definitely going to watch it because of that and alsoΒ because of my son who is a die-hard X-Men fan! This one is set for release on May 27, 2016.

  1. The Divergent Series: Allegiant

Been a huge fan of the books, the last 2 movies and Shailene Woodley so it’s obvious I am waiting for this one. Guess who is a bigger fan of the movies, yep that’s right – my son! I see an inclination for sci-fi/fantasy movies for him. Not surprised though! We are both waiting for March 18, 2016 to hit the movies for this one!

  1. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

A face-off between the greatest heroes in the world? Oh yea! It is Superman all the way for me. My son is torn between his love for Batman and Superman, although I see a slight inclination towards Superman. March 25, 2016 where art thou??

  1. Ice Age: Collision Course

Both my son and I are huge fans of the Ice Age series. Needless to say, we have been patiently waiting for the next part of the seriesΒ ever since we watched Ice Age: Continental Drift. The movie is set for release on July 22, 2016.

  1. Gods of Egypt

I love a good fantasy flick, add history to it and you have me sold. The trailer of this movie looked so good that I knew I would hit the movie theater for this one! And I don’t have to wait for too long as this one is set for release on February 26, 2016. Check out the trailer, you will love it!

  1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

I grew up watching the crime fighting turtles Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo and Leonardo, so I was very excited when the first Teenage Mutant movie came out in 2014, obviously a sequel to the 2014 movie is most welcome.Β  A nationwide release is expected on June 3, 2016.

  1. The conjuring 2: The Endfield Experiement

I do not usually get too scared of horror movies, gaahh, who am I kidding, I do get scared of horror movies, andΒ some of them freak me out. After watching The Conjuring (first part) I think I didn’t sleep properly for a month.Β  And from the looks of this trailer I think I Β willΒ not be able to sleep for another month or two after June 10, 2016. I may even shift to my son’s room for a month after watching this one! πŸ˜›

What about you? Do you enjoy watching movies? AnyΒ favorites so far? Are you particularly waiting for any movie this year? Let me know!
